Weekly Update April 30, 2012
Saturday's horse show was great! Winnie & Copper started our day off with good ribbons in the pre-beginner divison. Katie & Spencer went next, where they won good ribbons plus a reserve Champion in the older beginners. And they hadn't been in the show ring in 4 months! We then took those 2 home and returned with Andrea & Ben. They decided to make it a schooling day since they hadn't been in the show arena in close to 2 years. Ben's mom Nancy, came to watch us too. Great show and a great week. Our HOT weather is back!
Weekly Update April 24, 2012
We're in a crazy cold snap right now, but the horses' are still behaving greatly! The horses don't mind as much as the rest of us, and I think the warm nights are returning quite soon. We horse show this weekend with Katie, Andrea, and Winnie. The previous horse show was great, both Ben & Copper were stars!

Parker learned to canter on Spencer this week, and both were super stars! Everyone is working hard on shedding their winter coats and turning nice and slick. We all love the sunshine and warm weather!

Weekly update January 22, 2012
The Making Strides annual Christmas in January Party was earlier today. We had a fantastic turn-out this year, probably our biggest yet! Thanks to everyone who joined us. I think only 1 barn worker and 2 students were unable to attend. The night before we had fun at our annual AAHJA awards banquet. It's been a great weekend, even if it's been too wet to ride!
Weekly Update January 16, 2012
Welcome to 2012 everyone! I hope everyone has had a great start to their year. Ours has been going pretty much like normal. Some nights have dipped into the 20's, some days have reached mid 60's. Other nights have held in the 40's while other days have been 40 degrees and windy. It's very normal for us. The horses just never know what kind of day to prepare for. Should they wear heavy blankets, sheets, or go without ? Lessons have all been good though, and everyone seems pretty happy. This Saturday night is our annual AAHJA Awards banquet, and Sunday afternoon is our annual Christmas in January party. Very fun weekend ahead!

Weekly Update December 21, 2011
Happy Holidays everyone! It's almost Santa time!!!!
We've had really warm weather here lately (65 degrees), but it's also been raining. And raining. So riding has been put on hold this week. But the ponies are happy to be able to go without their sheets, and they have been taking full advantage of it. Instead of a gray, Spencer is rolling and rolling and trying his best to be black! Tomorrow will be in the 70's, but thunderstorms are quite possible.
Enjoy your holidays! Another update coming soon!

Few weeks update December 12, 2011
Everything has been going great! Katie & Elizabeth made their show debut this past Saturday. Both girls looked spectacular, and their mounts couldn't have been better. Fly was his normal super star self, and Spencer rose to the challenge and was flawless! Winnie showed Fly too, and this was Winnie's first show graduating into pre-beginners.
Thank you to Kristina for helping us warm up Spencer on Saturday morning, thank you to the mom's for bringing the girls out at 6:00 am on a cold morning, thank you to Janet of Athens Tack Exchange for her help in outfitting the girls', thank you to my wonderful husband Tommy, and son West for driving the trailer, thank you to Katie's mom for the chic-fil-a breakfast, thank you to Four Seasons for a fun show, thank you to Natalie for feeding the barn horses' breakfast, and thank you to my riders and their equines!
Lessons for the past few weeks have been awesome too. Neely is getting on a more consistent schedule, Victoria is finally able to commit to weekly lessons, Andrea's jumping Ben, Natalie is jumping Wendy, Kristina is jumping Copper, Nancy has been riding weekly with us, Leila has ridden a few times, etc. We've been busy, but we are enjoying ourselves! We even put Wendy in the western saddle last week, just for fun.

The holiday week has been fantastic!
Neely started the week off with a excellent lesson on Fly. Victoria had a wonderful lesson on Fly on Wednesday, while Andrea & Ben had a great jumping lesson on Thanksgiving day. On Friday, we met 2 new friends; Shelby & Izzie. Shelby jumped Spencer around 2'3", 2'6"; Izzie rode Fly and cantered around even though she's more tuned up in saddle seat rather than hunter/ jumpers. Nancy came for a ride on Ben, after returning from a 6 month visit to 25 countries in Europe. Leila had a relaxing rideon Copper, and Kristina put Wendy through her paces. Today, Kristina had a fabulous jumping lesson on Ben. It's been a super week!

We hope everyone has a wonderful day and we hope everyone remembers to give thanks for all the awesome blessings in their lives. Around here, we are very blessed! Two days ago it was 77 degrees, and 3 nights ago it was warm enough for the horses to go naked at night. Lessons have been fantastic, and we are even teaching today on the holiday. Everyone had fall vaccinations last week and received a great report on their check-ups. Everyone had their feet done this week, and we were blessed with rain to keep the grass growing.
Have a great day and come visit us!

Few weeks Update November 4, 2011
Finals went great! Winnie was able to show in leadline on both Saturday & Sunday this year, plus she had a practice day on Friday. Since finals are held at the horse park in Conyers, it's fun to get to ride all 3 days. Wendy & Natalie performed really well after having the previous 4 days off due to rain and school work. Saturday they won 3 thirds! We decorated our stalls will cool Halloween themes, we just had a blast! The weather couldn't have been better either. I do have some photos to add, just like the Magnum ones I've been promising!
Sunday at the farm, Winnie has invited all of her classmates and friends from school, gymnastics, church, and wherever to come join us for some rides. She is very excited to show off her ponies to everyone, even her teachers. We're expecting it to be a fun filled afternoon! And if you can't make Sunday, we are doing a second one on Tuesday, November 15th.
Also................ I found out that the pony that is featured on the home page, Magical Combination "Baby", is looking for a new home. I believe she might be around 14 years old now. Been living in a field, real easy keeper, but needs some attention from a loving person! Anyone want some more information? Please let me know. She's also been added to the sale page.

I do have some fantastic photos of Magnum to add very soon. I found some old ones of our horse showing days; I just need to find the time to upload them to this website.
Tomorrow we head to our local finals. We'll be back Sunday. Wish us luck!

Monthly update August 18, 2011
It has been another quick month! The students have gone back to school which made a couple of weeks rather lonely in the mornings. Then the heat was too strong in the afternoons, so we had to move to Saturday morning lessons. Now my college girls are back, and therefore the weekday mornings are getting busy and normal again.
My computer was being silly here and there which is why it's been awhile since any photos were posted. But now we have more new photos! Check out the students, 2011 to see pictures from summer lessons and shows. Check out our horses and ponies page for updated pictures at the bottom of the page. Plus, I added our fantastic barn cats to our horse and pony page. We can't leave them out! Next project will be updating the barn page with more recent photos.
Have a great time enjoying the site and pictures!

Weekly update June 27, 2011
We are very happy to report that we have been getting some RAIN over the last couple of weeks. Sometimes we've had some nasty wind storms along with it, and many nights of thunder and lightening; but at least we've gotten the rain too. RAIN is a good thing!!!
Horses/ ponies have been great, lessons and exercise rides have been wonderful. Kristina is back from PA and riding with us again, she's gearing up for her jumping lessons on Ben. Amanda came in to visit from Boston last week, but only the ponies we able to see her. She's promising to come visit again in the spring, and she'll be bringing a newborn with her. :-)
Trainer Tonia went to watch part of the Atlanta Classic Horse Show in Conyers this past week, and even took part in a question/ answer clinic while she was there. The clinic was hosted by Practical Horseman magazine, and was titled " Questions for the Judges, What they look for in the show arena". Tonia also re-connected with other trainer friends that she hadn't seen in awhile, and watched lots of beautiful horses make many beautiful rounds in the hunter arena.

I can't believe it's been a month! This summer is flying by due to all the fun we've been having at the farm. Katie joined our team in mid May, and has pretty much been at the barn ever since. Since Katie stays and works/ plays almost every day, we've invited more and more students each day to stay and play. We've had tack cleaning fun, hand grazing fun, and even a play in the sprinkler day. We've watched the farrier work, we've picked up rocks, and we've picked up manure out of the pastures. We've drawn pictures and played pet store. We are having a blast after morning lessons are through!
Speaking of lessons, we've added Elizabeth and Amy to the lesson program. They are really enjoying both Immy and Fly. We've added Leila to the worker schedule as well as an extra rider. She'll be boarding her horse nearby since we are full, and she'll be visting both barns a lot this summer. Morgan came for 2 summer lessons while visiting her grandfather for a week, and she stayed for the play/ work days, and her grandfather did too!
To top things off even more, we've enjoyed a few evening rain showers. It's been a fantastic month!

Weekly update April 1, 2011
Rebecca & Winnie both had another successful show last Saturday. Boone, or Major Hot Shot, was once again a great teacher in the show ring. Both girls brought home more ribbons! This week brought lots of rain with it, but today was dry enough to ride and we had sun shine too!
Monthly update March 24, 2011
Where has the time gone? It's been over a month since we had an update. OOPS!
We are enjoying the nicer, warm weather to start with. We added Jenna to our team, she's been doing lessons on Spencer and will try out Copper today. Our county schools and the University had spring break last week, so all the students are now getting back into the swing of things. Rebecca and Winnie started off their horse show season on the 12th, bringing home many ribbons. Winnie continues to show in leadline, while Rebecca has moved up into crossrails. Rebecca has also started showing Boone, or Major Hot Shot, this season. (Winnie borrowed him for leadline too.) The grass is turning greener, the horses have gone to night time turn-out, and the daylight is lasting so much longer! It's been a great month, we show again this Saturday with Rebecca and Winnie. And Nancy is home after spending 18 months across the country, in the land of Austraila and New Zealand.

It's been a very busy week! First off, this has been the first full week of riding since who knows when! Finally, finally, finally; the weather and arena cooperated enough that we could ride everyday. This doesn't mean our weather was "normal", or even close to it. Monday evening it rained. Wednesday night brought 1 inch of snow. Friday afternoon was sunny, today is sunny and reaching high 50's. What a week!
Horses have been great and the dentist and farrier visited on Friday. Lessons have been taught again, we're wonderful here. Come see us!

Weekly Update January 31, 2011
It's been a wonderful couple of weeks. We celebrated Rebecca & Copper winning a 5th place at the AAHJA year-end award banquet in older beginners. We also celebrated Wendy & Natalie winning 7th at the banquet in Adult hunters 2'6". If Wendy isn't sold or leased, she'll continue to show with Natalie this season. This weekend we held our annual January Christmas Party which was lots of fun. We had a great turn-out! All the horses are back to work after a break due to the crazy weather and they are ready to teach lessons. This weekend was BEAUTIFUL weather, almost reaching 70 degrees!
Weekly Update January 14, 2011
As I mentioned in the last update, it was SNOW time again in Georgia. This time, we received a record breaking 9 inches of snow. 9 inches!!!! This closed schools for a full week, because of the ice on the roads. The horses are doing very well with it, they have been very careful when going outside. This also gave them ANOTHER vacation week though, so they are thinking they are retired. They are going to wonder what's going on when they see a saddle soon! Really though, they have been great sports with all the ice and the limited turn-out. The pictures are BEAUTIFUL, I just need to get them transfered over. Have a wonderful day!
Weekly Update January 9, 2011
Welcome to 2011!
The holidays went by quickly and all the students are returning. Most of the horses had a nice vacation along with all of the riders, only a couple picked up a ride here and there. But with the riders gone, other riders sick, other riders working, and then add rain, snow, mud..........the horses didn't have to do much. But they did all get their manes pulled so that they all look wonderful to start off 2011. :-)
And now that everyone is returning, it's SNOW time again. Probably 2-5 inches tonight, then 2-4 more inches tomorrow. CRAZY!!!! This is so much SNOW!!!! I'll hopefully get some good pictures to share. It'll be COLD too, a high of 27. (This morning, without snow, it was 18 when the horses had breakfast.) Luckily everyone has a stall to keep them cozy, and they'll have to handle limited to no turn-out for a few days.
If you get some snow at your place, have fun!!!!!

We had Christmas snow! Christmas snow in Athens, Georgia!!! It snowed all day on the 26th, and there is still snow on the ground 2 days later. I have some photos from around the farm to post, but I have to download them from the regular camera first. I'll share them as soon as I can. Happy Holidays!
Weekly Update December 17, 2010
More snowflakes fell a couple of days ago.............maybe some more will fall next week on Christmas!
We had some really COLD mornings this week, Monday it felt like 5 degrees, and Tuesday it felt like 4 degrees. Tommy did a great job in instructing us on how to keep the pipes warm, so no broken pipes. YAY! We've also had some rain, and the colleges are out for Christmas, so the horses are thinking they are on vacation. They have not been getting their normal work-outs, but I haven't heard them complain.
I've been promising to post some show photos from this fall, and it's finally happening! Check out a few below, and check out some on the students' page. Enjoy!

They have not been getting their normal work-outs, but I haven't heard them complain.
I've been promising to post some show photos from this fall, and it's finally happening! Check out a few below, and check out some on the students' page. Enjoy!
Weekly Update December 12,2010
We saw snow flurries all day today!!!!!!
Monthly Update November 23, 2010
It's been forever since an update, just because things have been going so well.
The horses have been fantastic, the riders have been fabulous, the lessons have been wonderful, and the weather has been awesome!
Our local AAHJA circuit ended a month ago, and both Immy and Wendy were as great as always. Natalie had really good rides on Wendy, filled with many auto changes, stride adjustments, and beautiful flat classes. Winnie and Immy were as precious as ever.
Wendy is still for sale, but now has more show miles and auto changes under her belt. Grab her up before her price increases with more knowledge! See the for sale page for all the info.

Weekly Update October 12, 2010
Andrea was a rock-star with Ben at the last show. Her first course in the show ring was beautiful and fluid, complete with changes. Just wonderful! Kristina showed him later in the 2'6" and won ribbons in all the classes, Natalie had great success riding Wendy in the 2'6", and Winnie had a blast showing Immy again. I'm hoping to get pictures downloaded soon, but I know I promised that before too. But we have some fantastic shots!
The grass is growing in the field that we seeded and fertilized. YEA! The horses don't appreciate us resting their field, but they will once they are allowed to go graze it again. Tommy bought us a new hose and a new sprinkler to help water it, which really rocks! Thank You !!!!
Rebecca is now leasing Boone after a couple of months of trying to make it happen. I'm sooooooo glad it's happening, her lesson on Copper this week was fantastic since she's been getting to practice daily on Boone!
Corey brought out 5 of his college students for a class assignment last week, and it was very fun watching them learn about horses and ride for the first time. Next week he brings 4 more. Thanks to Natalie and Kristina for helping with their lessons!
Immy and Wendy head to AAHJA Finals in conyers this weekend. I'll update soon!

Weekly Update September 27, 2010
This past Saturday was another great show. Rebecca won her first Championship in the Beginner division with Copper. She won 2 blues and one red. Way to Go! Andrea rode Ben wonderfully in the schooling, and Winnie & Immy were stars again. And to top it off, we were back at the barn by noon! WOW!
Yesterday and today we are finally having our much, much, much, needed rain! We are very thankful for the rain. We've been hoping for it for awhile now. Tommy even spent yesterday throwing out seed, hoping the pastures will grow more green. We're keeping our fingers crossed!
We have another show this Saturday, and then 2 weeks later our AAHJA circuit has their finals show. Wish us luck!

Weekly Update September 13, 2010
We had a fantastic show on Saturday ! Ben and Kristina took 3 fourth's in their 2'6" division at their first show together. They looked great and had a lot of fun! Wendy and Natalie were super stars, Wendy did her 2'6" division with ease. We are all so proud of that mare, she is so cute and so fun at shows! Ben and Andrea had a perfect line and perfect lead change in their morning schooling, and Immy & Winnie had a blast as always! Pictures will be posted soon.
At the farm it's all going great. Lessons are going well, the horses are happy, we just need rain!

Weekly Update September 2, 2010
It's been a great couple of weeks around here. Tommy had our special short term grazing area fenced in, so the horses are loving their new special area. It looks great and helps with resting the other areas a little more. THANKS TOMMY! Alexa ended up leasing a horse at a different facility, but we added an Alexandra after that. Maria has come back and signed up for a lesson, and Nancy has come back for 3 weeks. Ben is happy to have his mommy back, too bad New Zealand isn't closer! Once she leaves again, it'll be at least 5 more months before she returns. And that's only if she doesn't add another month or two of traveling in. Hopefully she's tagging along with us, to the Sept 11 show.
We could use more rain, but we're making it. Lessons are going well, the horses are happy, it's all good. Winnie's been great at sharing her pony with the others, and Macie's racking up the babysitting hours. No complaints at the farm!

Monthly Update August 22, 2010
It's hard to believe that I've gone a month without an update. I'm thinking I've just been busy with the wonderful lessons everyone has been taking, as well as enjoying our much needed rain. We had a shower every evening for a week straight, so my grass said a BIG THANK YOU! The horses have been busy with new beginners starting up, and also more advanced Alexa joining us. It's been a fantastic month! We attended a horse show yesterday, but a huge storm came before we were able to compete. Rebecca & Copper had a fabulous warm-up though, so they would have rocked in their division! Andrea and Ben schooled beautifully, but Kristina didn't get her chance to try. When the storm was approaching, we threw everyone back on the trailer to wait it out. The horses were wonderful! They stood great and munched their hay, for probably an hour. They were sooooooooo good, I couldn't have asked them for anything more. Our next show is Septemeber 11. We'll be ready again!
Daily Update July 27, 2010
Sunday's group lesson was great! The musical chairs type game was really fun, especially once everyone got into it. I think it helped that the motivation behind winning, was not to do laps of trotting without stirrups. :-) All 4 riders never failed for Simon Says. I couldn't trick anyone! I'm also glad that Natalie drove 2 hours to get there for the 8:30 lesson, even if she was a little late. That shows dedication!
Anyone want to do another one this Sunday a.m. ?

Weekly Update July 24, 2010
It's been HOT!!! A very HOT week!
We have returned from vacation, where we had a wonderful 3 days in Biloxi. Thanks to Rachel, Kristina, and Natalie for doing the barn work while I was away. The horses have enjoyed the lighter work schedule due to the heat, and I think the riders have too. Tomorrow morning is another fun group lesson. Since it's a Sunday, it's another games day. I'm thinking some "simon says" and "musical chairs", or "red light/ green light" type stuff. Last Saturday only Andrea could come, so she got the fun all to herself. She did a cool lead change/ turning exercise, a high jump, and a wide jump game.
Have a great week!

Weekly Update July 15, 2010
Last Saturday we had a fantastic show on the AAHJA circuit. We took 4 horses to play and everyone was super! Wendy's Comet did 3 flying changes (Thanks Natalie), Easy High Stride was as steady as ever, Golden Image was perfect, and Ben There was fabulous! Pictures are posted on the students page, under 2010.
Hopefully I'll update the other student pages soon. I'll also be updating the 'for sale' page and all the others. I'm off to teach a lesson now, so check back soon!

Daily Update June 26, 2010
We did the Egg & Spoon race again today in the group lesson. Natalie had her second shot at it, so she upped the challenge and jumped jumps! Kristina easily accepted the challenge, and jumped jumps too. Way to go girls!!!!
Tonight we're off as a big group to go watch the equitation musical classic at the horse park. We are all very excited to see it! A big Thank you to Rachel for filling in to feed our horses dinner, on short notice.

Weekly Update June 25, 2010
Due to the HOT weather, lessons have been either early morning or evenings lately. We let the horses hang out under their stall fans during the hottest part of the day, out of the direct sun.
To keep lessons fun in the heat, I added in the Egg & Spoon race during the group lesson this a.m. Natalie riding Wendy was the big winner! not only did she do the w/t/c (and pole surpentine pattern!) with the egg, but she realized she needed to lighten up on the reins like I'd been trying to teach her in normal lessons!
We have another group scheduled in the a.m., so we'll give it another go at the egg and spoon race. Then next week we'll change games. It's always fun at our place!

It's hard to believe that we are half way through June. Things are GREAT at the farm. HOT most days, but GREAT! We've also been getting rain showers in the evenings, so the grass is saying a BIG THANK YOU!
Weekly Update May 31, 2010
The month of May has flown by! Our 10 % discount off lessons this month was a big hit. Next month, anytime you take 2 private lessons, you'll receive a free group lesson.
I finally have more horse show pictures to share. Some are from Rebecca's very first show in March at the Horse Park. The others are more from the April Hawkes Creek show, where both Rebecca and Winnie competed. Check them out below, and enjoy!

This past Saturday Making Strides took part in the Winterville Marigold festival. Copper celebrated his birthday by hanging out in a shady spot, listening to music, meeting new people, and of course getting petted! A big THANK YOU to Natalie for helping all day long with Copper, and a big THANK YOU to Tommy for handing out information. We had wonderful weather and a fantastic day. We are all looking forward to next year. (More photos are below.)

Weekly Update April 1, 2010
Happy April!
I've been working on the website, re-wording some of the photos, moving photos around, etc. I still haven't gotten very far with the subpages, but I did update our For sale and lease information. If you haven't read the pages lately, please do! I wrote bio's on all the previous horses and ponies as well.
Around the farm, it has been beautiful, actually HOT, weather and fantastic riding. Lessons have been great!

Weekly update March 21, 2010
WOW, time flies once again since the last update. We have been busy here, and having a blast! Right after Magnum's birthday, Winnie turned 3. It's so hard to believe that my little one is 3. The baby days do not seem that long ago!
On the 13th, Rebecca competed in her very first show. She competed in the covered arena at Conyers in the beginner division. She rode Copper, and it was only his second show, and his first time being in that arena. They took 3rd in their first class, 2nd in their second class, and 4th in their third class. GO REBECCA! GO COPPER! They both looked fantastic and made a beautiful team together. Rebecca would have won the second class, because she was the ONLY one to do the judge's test correctly. However, she didn't trust herself, so she went back and joined the group. But not bad for her very first time!
The next day, Winnie celebrated her birthday with a gymnastics party that many of the Making Strides crew attended. It was awesome!
The following week brought beautiful 70 degree weather, so all the ponies have been getting worked and the rides have been great. I even managed to fit in 2 rides on Ben, and jumped him too. Have a great day until we update again!

Daily Update MARCH 7, 2010 MAGNUM'S 31st BIRTHDAY
Beautiful day today! My main man, Mr. Magnum, had a wonderful birthday. He enjoyed his birthday skittles like always. I posted photos on my Facebook page, but they aren't on here yet.
Lessons were fantastic too. Andrea started the day off with a great jumping lesson on Ben, followed by Victoria doing a super lunge line lesson on Immy. After that, Rebecca rode Copper and had a perfect canter, and Andrea rode again for a jumping lesson on Wendy. Wonderful day!!

Weekly Update March 5, 2010
A lot has happened in just a week. I tried to update a few other times, but the computer or website wasn't cooperating. I'm not sure which it was.
ANYWAY..........Copper was a total rockstar in Conyers. He loaded decently, and arrived in Conyers like a horse show pro! He acted like it was something he does every day. He schooled flawlessly, not bothered by a thing. Wendy was also good, just her usual self. We were so shocked with Copper, that we brought him back on Sunday to show. He was PERFECT! This time, he came all by himself. And again, he acted like a pro. He did two flat classes and was WONDERFUL! THANKS to Kristina for being his rider!
That same weekend Kristina had her jumping lesson on Ben which was loads of fun, and Andrea had a fantastic jumping lesson on Wendy! Monday, Rebecca tried on her horse show outfit and made sure she had all the correct pieces. Copper and Rebecca are going to be stars! Tuesday brought us BEAUTIFUL snow. Just beautiful. It snowed all day long, with huge flakes a good bit of the time. It was so Pretty! Yesterday Corey had a great lesson on Ben, and today Andrea had a great flat lesson on him.
It's sunny warm weather for the next 3 days, so we'll be in the arena. Come visit or come ride!!! And to all of our friends on Spring Break this week, have a fabulous time!

Weekly Update February 24, 2010
We've had a fantastic week! The weekend weather was beautiful, the barn was jam packed! The flooring on the hay barn was finished, and we stocked it with hay afterwards. (Thanks to my husband for both!) The spring weather made me so happy that 6 out of the 7 horses have now had their spring mane pulls and show clips. This Friday Copper is going to his first show ever to school, and Wendy & Ruegar are going to school too. Kristina will be prepping Copper so Rebecca can start showing him. It's horse show time! Lessons have been wonderful: Corey almost jumped his first jump (2'6") after a full lead change on Ben (OOPS!!!!), Wendy had a great jumping lesson with Andrea, and Andrea had a spectactular jumping lesson on Ben! Rebecca has been cantering awesomely on Copper, Anne and Cathy made it back out to play with us, and on and on!!!!!!!
Monthly Update February 17, 2010
I can't believe a month has gone by since our last update, OOPS! The horses have been wonderful, no complaints at all there.
Little Victoria (who isn't so little anymore) has started lessons again, and her mom really wants to start up too! Rebecca cantered on Copper for the first time, and did it 3-4 times, and it went GREAT! Mr. Corey did the circle exercise on Spencer at the W/T and CANTER, and the following week cantered him over the gymnastic poles many times!
The weather hasn't been super though. We've seen RAIN, SNOW, WIND, and a little sunshine mixed in. The snow was beautiful, I must admit. I'll try to get photos on here, but it hasn't happened yet. Seems like we get one decent day, then rain for 2, then a windy day, then the cycle starts over again. I sure hope all the wetness brings tons and tons of grass, I hope it hasn't washed it all away!
Have a wonderful day and happy Ash Wednesday!

GREAT Day!!! 4 fabulous lessons today and a farrier visit for 5 horses. Third day in a row of sunny, warm weather. 70 today.........Woo Hoo !!!!
Daily Update January 17, 2010
Once again we were soaked over the weekend with 2 1/2 inches of rain. Just when things were starting to finally dry out. OH WELL! At least we saw sunny 60 degree days on Thursday and Friday. And the lows are around 37 now, not 17!!!!
And.........I'm now adding subpages to the orginal pages on this site. Now I can organize photos better so that they are grouped more by time period, and everything will load quicker. Check it out!

Daily Update January 12, 2010
We experienced our first (and hopefully ONLY) broken pipe yesterday. Luckily, Winnie and I heaed back to the farm after our lunch, rather than running the errands that we needed too. So it only expoloded for 2 hours tops, rather than many, many, more. And you can imagine my surprise when I drove up and saw WATER by the back door, when I knew it hadn't been raining!
I have photos posted on my Facebook page, but I don't think I can get them on here. Luckily my husband PLUMBER saved the day and it all was fixed before watering time at dinner. YEA!!!! Thanks TOMMY!!!! And THANKS especially for knowing where the main water cut off is!!!!
Besides the scare of flooding water, yesterday was beautiful again at the farm. The horses enjoyed more hours of turn-out and playing in the sun.

Daily Update January 9, 2010
I tried to update yesterday but the website was moving slow. It is COLD !!!!! We saw our first dusting of snow Thursday night. Friday morning at feeding time I took some photos of the farm, showing off the snow. I'll try to post them on this website, but they'll also be on my facebook page. It was so pretty!!
Riding has been happening, so come on out! Today it reached 40-41 in the sunshine, I think we were warmer than most everywhere else. The horses even had their heavy blankets off for awhile so they could play in the sunshine. Come on out and ride!
Thanks to ANNE, KRISTINA, and RAUL for working the shifts this weekend. You guys ROCK!!
Daily Update January 5, 2010
Happy 2010 everyone!
We are getting off to a COLD start this new year. The ponies are all getting spoiled by staying inside the warmth of the barn, except for a few hours each day. Everyone is now getting warm grain and warm alfalfa cubes!!! They are loving it!!
Even though it's been 20's in the a.m.'s, the barn has been holding at 32. No ice in their water buckets yet, YEA!
Sunday and Monday were actually good riding days in the sunshine, and the arena isn't crunchy. It got a good drag on Sunday and looks great!

Due to rain, rain, and more rain......construction took longer than everyone planned. But it's finished!!! Photo posted soon!
Monthly Update November 28, 2009
November has been a great month. All the horses/ ponies and riders received tons of work-outs, to keep everyone in shape. A big THANK YOU to Andrea for all of her hard work this month. We are MOVED in!!! September 5, 2009
We are in!
We have 4 stalls and we have a temporary pony stall too. Magnum, Copper, Wendy, Immy, and Fly made the trip with no problems and they LOVE their new stalls and new home! Magnum has his own personal paddock which makes the others jealous. But when you are 30, you deserve special perks!

Monthly Update August 31, 2009
Everyone is working hard so we can move in ASAP! We are adding an office and a feed room next to the exsisting tack room. Before, this was an open area. We are framing it in to make the two rooms. We are also adding two more 12 X 12 stalls to make a total of 6 inside stalls. All stalls have rubber mat flooring, a fan, a light, etc.
Rock Party August 29, 2009
Tommy graciously sponsored a rock party complete with food on the grill and adult beverages. We picked up many, many, many rocks from the field and the arena. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially those from Spring Break Farm and Athens International Little League Baseball. You guys are awesome!!!!
