I'd been proud of myself this year for updating this area of the website more frequently. However, looks like the summertime slackness hit due to the heat and I missed a month.
Pretty much all that has been going on is.....heat and humidity, heat and humidity, heat and humidity. It's Georgia in the summer though, so it's normal.
Other than that, Thunder celebrated his 16th birthday, Buster celebrated his 16th birthday, Hunter celebrated his 9th birthday, Bobby celebrated his 14th birthday, we celebrated Father's day, and the summer solstice/ longest day happened.
I hope all of you are enjoying your summer and having fun!

It's almost June, another month has flown by. Kids are out of school for the summer, YAY! I love it! I hope everyone had a great memorial day, it was just another normal day around here. No complaints!
Wendy had her birthday and also celebrated being a part of the family for 20 years, and Toby has now been here a year. Toby, Buster, and Thunder all had their teeth done last week, and today the farrier will be here to trim their hooves. Riding has been a bit slack again, and the heat has made breakfast feeding begin earlier and earlier each morning.

Welcome to May. I love springtime and almost everything about it. Things are wonderful around here.
Wendy will be celebrating her 30th birthday next week, Thunder has been hanging out with us for 7 years now, Toby has been part of the team for almost a year now, and both Fly & Immy would have just celebrated their birthdays if they were still here on earth.
The grass is green and growing, students are getting out for the summer, it's Hot, hot, hot, and we just returned from vacation. A big thank you to all my students/ friends who helped feed the horses while we were gone.

I guess I was stuck in my favorite month of March, because somehow it's mid April and I never updated. Oops!
All is good here. Instead of being too wet to ride, or too cold to ride; this week was too HOT to ride! It's been hitting mid 80's! Next week it drops to mid 60's. You just never know around here.
But ponies are all good. They are still shedding, they've been ridden some, they had their spring vaccinations and are about to get their teeth done. We haven't ventured off of the property yet, but it's time. We need to get them out and about.

Yesterday was simply a GORGEOUS day! My kind of March weather.
Yep, ponies are still on vacation. They are living the good life.
Hopefully we'll be riding soon...........

It's my FAVORITE month! I LOVE March. Lots of my favorites have birthdays, the weather always tricks me into thinking that winter is over, green grass starts popping up along with 4 leaf clovers, and the ponies are shedding!
Thursday was Magnum's birthday, and it was a beautiful tank top wearing kind of day. Today is Winnie's 17th birthday, and there is lots of sunshine. Of course, we've had some monsoon days already mixed in, so the ponies fell off their riding schedule once again. Toby did not go to the horse show that I previously mentioned because one of the monsoon's hit.
Hopefully we are drying out with the wind and sun today so we can get back on track. And tomorrow is Batman's birthday. Even though he & Magnum are celebrating in heaven, I still like to mention their birthdays.

Guys.....I held to my plan.....the ponies have been being ridden! It's honestly a bit surprising because I don't usually consider February a good month for riding. It's normally still very bitterly cold, but we had lots of sun shiny days, so I'm pretty happy. They are beginning to shed their soft winter coats too, hair is getting everywhere!
Toby might be going to a horse show this weekend...stay tuned!

Happy Super Bowl Day! Ok,ok........it doesn't really mean anything to me since I'm in my own little horse world, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway!
January was a good month. We had our normal cold & rainy days, but overall is was not nearly as bad as it could of been. The ponies are secretly happy though, because their work-outs were at a bare minimum and they feel like they are on a permanent vacation. They are ridden 1 day and then they got 6 off for one reason or another. Hopefully in February their rides can stay a tad more consistent. I'm on the right track, Thunder has been ridden 3 days in a row!
At least I've been seeing some friendly faces though....Ben has been getting a ride in here and there, and the two of us have also started helping out a friend at her farm while she recovers from some fractures in her hand. Kennedy came back over to ride for a much needed study break and brought Ansley with her so that Ansley could do the same. Ben & I also went to the Jr Novice FoxHunt at Shakerag where we rode in the Tally Ho wagon. We were able to see Winnie's dressage coach Amanda, whom is also the President of the whole IEA, as well as Winnie's vaulting coach, Casey. Just this week, I had lunch with Amber after many, many months; and I ran into Kristina at dinner after many years.
Last night we attended the Horse Show Ventures year end banquet with Winnie's coach, Stefanie and the Signature Sporthorses team. Winnie & Buster brought home a reserve championship, 3rd place and 5th place, with limited showing. What a star that Buster is!
